1 lb. ground beef
1 c. cracker crumbs or meal
1/2 tsp. salt
Pepper to taste
1 can cream of mushroom soup (preferably homemade version)
1 small can of mushrooms
3/4 c. water
Mix meat, cracker crumbs, salt and pepper together. Make into a loaf and place in refrigerator until solid (overnight). slice into 1/2 inch slices. Roll in flour and fry until brown. Place in baking pan in layers. Mix mushrooms, mushroom soup with water and heat until warm. Pour over meat and bake 1 hour at 350 degrees.
